It is now a fact that whenever you are in a store trying to pick the right product for you, you always focus on specific product packages. Have you ever wondered why? What makes these packages so special that catches your eye resulting putting them on your basket? Of course, the color of the packaging! It is now widely accepted that the color of a package is a very strong element for product selection.

“Colour is, on the evidence of language alone, very bound up with the feelings”. -Marion Milner

Red: Increases blood circulation and heart rate by creating a sense of hunger. Therefore, it is the ideal color for dining areas (especially fast food) and food packaging.
Yellow: Creates a feeling of joy and care. It is the color that draws attention the most.
Orange: Creates a sense of comfort, enhances mental functioning and pushes for action, e.g. buy.
Blue: It enhances the feeling of confidence and security. It is usually found in packages of dairy products (in combination with white) emphasizing quality and purity.
Green: It is the first color that comes to mind when areas such as health, environment and sustainability are mentioned. It is the most “digestible” color as it is the color that makes the eyes easier to process.
Pink: The most ‘romantic’ color. It emits a sense of security and emotional security. Women and beauty products uses this color.
Black: Dynamic color that gives the feeling of luxury. It is used in products and brands that want to emphasize their luxury character.
