In this way they are becoming more competitive while supporting the nation\u2019s economy.<br \/>\nGreece\u2019s worldwide exports has been rising steadily, with an increase of 13.2% in 2017 (US$32.6 billion),\u00a0representing the 31.5% of total Greek Gross Domestic Product.\u00a0The country\u2019s exports are broad-based with products such as petroleum goods, raw materials, chemicals etc., with the sector of \u201cFood and Beverage\u201d representing the most export-oriented and dynamic amongst the others.<br \/>\nThis boost took place primarly due to two factors: <strong>a.<\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2251 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dkmarketing.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/b5e105820e5a6e8c69c9be34982cf7e1_XL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"269\" height=\"163\" \/> the increased demand from fellow European Union\u00a0trading partners, and\u00a0<strong>b.<\/strong> the implementation of exporting to new worldwide markets.<br \/>\nWith a closer look, the majority of Greece\u2019s exports were delivered to the EU countries (63.6%) while 23.1% went to Asia, 6.2% to African importers and\u00a0 5% to North America.<br \/>\n<!--more-->On the other hand, Greek exports to non-EU countries rose by 46.9% compared to 2016: many goods were exported in 2017 to new markets such as the\u00a0Ivory Coast, the British Virgin Islands, Pakistan, Belarus, Trinidad &amp; Tobago, Cape Verde etc. (according to the Panhellenic Exporters Association.)
